Sundress – glam it up or down

If you’re looking for a pretty and bright colored sundress, I recommend something like the Rosie shift dress by Lilly Pulitzer in hotty pink. This sleeveless a-line shift dress retails for $188 and is worth the price because it is so versatile. This style dress can be worn many times as it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

For a casual chic look, wear flat sandals like the Tory Burch ones shown. Since the bodice of the dress already has some shine, not many accessories are necessary. The Kate Spade stud earrings displayed and a simple bangle are perfect. A straw tote completes the relaxed silhouette.

I always wear heels, so I would pair gold strappy platform sandals with the dress. To give the dress a more glamorous look, I would also wear large gold earrings like the Kendra Scott ones displayed on the right side of the photo. They really pick up the gold lace details on the dress. Accessorize with gold bangle bracelets and a clutch purse.

Keep your make-up simple (minimal eye make-up & a bright lip) for both of these looks, especially if you’re wearing this dress at an outdoor party.

I love the bright color of this Lilly Pulitzer sundress. The left side of the photo shows a casual chic way to accessorize the dress, while the right side displays a more glammed up option.

Happy Summer 2015

For this week’s look, I chose a retro inspired sundress. It’s summery, flirty and only costs $34 on Polyvore. I like that it has a defined waist and flared skirt. We all work hard to stay in shape, so make sure any sundress you wear fits well and shows off your figure. Hoop earrings, stacked bangles, and strappy heels complete this outfit. Any cat eye sunglasses will work, but these Prada studded cat eye glasses are fabulous. They really complement the hardware on the bangle bracelet and Kate Spade straw clutch. Make-up for this look should include black eyeliner and red lipstick. Benefit’s They’re Real push-up eyeliner is easy to work with to achieve the perfect winged eye. An easy way to prevent your red lipstick from bleeding is by using a lip crayon to line and color the lips. Then apply additional color or gloss with a lip brush. Since it’s summer, you really don’t need any blush. Let your natural glow shine through!

Celebrate summer with this retro inspired look. I accessorized this dress with cat eye sunglasses, stacked bangles, and glam make-up.

Dressing for Winter

Just because it’s freezing outside doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice fashion. Here is a stylish winter look made up of warm fabrics like leather and cashmere. Make sure your layers of clothes match in case you get warm and need to remove a sweater. Your finger tips and toes can quickly become cold in these chilly temperatures, so make sure to wear thick gloves (gloves with fur or faux-fur linings are a good idea), and a good pair of boots. I like the Tory Burch black boots shown below because of the wedge heel. You’re still wearing a heel, but can walk through snow – stylish and functional.  In these sub-zero temperatures, it is important to protect your eyes from the wind and sun so remember to wear your sunglasses.  A chic scarf is a must and should be large enough to wrap around your neck a couple times. Keep warm friends!

Look well-dressed this winter by layering on leather and cashmere. Coat, sweaters, scarf, hat and gloves shown above are made of cashmere. Leather pants are a stylish way to keep warm.

Tweed Jackets – always Chic

Fall is a great time to invest in a tweed jacket because you can wear it all the way through spring. A tweed jacket always looks chic and can be worn practically anywhere.Tweed is a rich elegant material that dresses up any outfit. You can create many looks with just one tweed jacket. Try matching the jacket with pants, leggings, skirts, sleeveless tops, blouses, turtlenecks, over shift dresses – the possibilities are endless!

If you have a tweed suit, mix and match the pieces to create numerous looks. Photo: Angela is wearing Nanette Lepore.

Glam up your favorite pair of jeans with the same tweed jacket you wear to the office. Add a nude peep toe heel and some statement jewelry and you are set to go out! Shopping for the perfect tweed jacket should be fun and easy since most stores/designers offer a variety of styles.

Bright & Fun for Summer

Stay cool these last few weeks of summer with a bright colored flowy skirt. A flowy skirt is a good option to shorts and can be worn for many occasions. Accessorize with chunky bangles and your favorite pair of sunglasses. I think stacking your bangle bracelets looks cute and chic when wearing a tank or sleeveless shirt. On hot days try to keep your make-up light and natural looking. You can set your make-up and refresh your skin with a light mist spray. This keeps your skin hydrated and prevents your make-up from caking.

Spring Business Attire

Spring is a great time to brighten up your entire wardrobe; even your work attire. A basic white blouse and pencil skirt always looks professional. Instead of a white button down shirt, try a feminine blouse decorated with a ruffle or bow. A more feminine blouse will look very attractive; plus you won’t have to worry about the buttons on a button down shirt pulling across your chest.

For a powerful look, add a bright colored fitted blazer over your outfit. Hot pink blazers are hot this season. Accessorize with high heel pumps and pearl jewelry for a classic elegant look.

Fashion tip – Remember to change your purse for spring. Your heavy everyday winter purse should be stored away until next year. You’ll feel invigorated just by using a new purse.

Saluti da Sorrento

Saluti da Sorrento by alegna15.polyvore.com

This bright yellow sundress is perfect to wear along the Amalfi Coast– whether you are sipping a Limoncello in a Sorrento café overlooking the Bay of Naples or shopping through the streets of Capri. Typically, I advise to stay away from outfits that are too trendy. The cutout feature in this dress is trendy, but the retro feel of the dress keeps it classic. Also, the dress displayed is not terribly expensive. It retails for $92 from Topshop. With a dress like this showing so much skin, keep the accessories minimal. Your body is an accessory to the dress so one or two pieces of jewelry is all you need to look gorgeous.Cork sandals are a summer staple. You may want to invest in a pair of cork sandals that will last a few seasons.
